As we come towards the end of Q1 2023, companies have a better picture of how the rest of 2023 revenue and financials will look, and many are realizing that they, unfortunately, did not cut enough of their burn.
The job market in tech continues to see shockwaves with more layoffs, with Amazon laying off another 9,000, Accenture laying off an estimated 19,000, and Indeed laying off 2,200. I expect this trend to continue until at least through Q2 more broadly, but there will be a few exceptions for companies that are doing well financially.
Getting a job might take a little longer than it used to with the excess of talent now on the market and the shortage of available tech and cyber jobs.
Plan accordingly, stay positive out there, and don’t forget to get creative. 💪
